Real estate is in Tom’s blood. He follows in his father’s footsteps, Tom Hendriks Senior, who operated his own successful real estate business from 1960 to 1980. He learnt from the very best, so in 2003 he branched out on his own under the umbrella of Ray White real estate in Glen Eden and ran his own office very successfully for 15 years.
Tom’s wife, Jess joined the Glen Eden team in 2008 as the Sales Administrator and eventually went on to run the administration side of the business. 17 years working in Real Estate administration was very rewarding for Jess, however in 2018 she sat her real estate license and became a Licensee Salesperson. Now able to help Tom out even more with viewings and open homes, she really enjoys the interaction with buyers.
Still as enthusiastic and motivated as ever, Tom has now sold his real estate and property management businesses in favour of focusing only on marketing and selling real estate as a part of the Austar Realty Ray White group, leaving plenty of time to concentrate entirely on serving the needs of his valued clients in West Auckland.
Not only is Tom a Licensee Agent, he is one of the few real estate salespeople in the market who is also an auctioneer managing the entire marketing process right through to calling the auction on the day. Tom firmly believes that this gives him a real advantage over his competitors as he has the ability to build relationships with the buyers that allows him to capitalise on this during the auction understanding the position the buyers are in pushing them to their absolute maximum and sometimes beyond. Having another auctioneer who does not know the property or the buyers in Toms view limits the potential for the best possible outcome.
Tom is one of West Auckland’s most well-known and successful salespeople.
Now in his 29th year, Tom has consistently maintained his status as one of the area’s top sales people and has received numerous awards for his achievements. He has effortlessly combined his sales role with being an Auctioneer for the past 20 years.
The consummate professional, he has been a panelist at the Real Estate Institute Superstars Breakfast, recognizing industry top performers, sharing their expertise with salespeople in the industry, along with being nominated for a Westpac Waitakere Enterprise Business Award for expertise in marketing and leadership.
Tom and Jess also have a community conscience being involved in the largest Rotary club in the West, the Henderson Rotary Club, supporting local community initiatives.
